Aufgaben:
- Your focus is the optical design of product development for automotive lighting applications
- Optical evaluation of product design concepts
- Support LED chip product development with customer and application knowledge and studies in close alignment with our headquarters in Japan
- Conduct optical simulations (FEM and / or ray tracing) to evaluate product performance within the application
- Demonstrate feasibility to achieve target performance
- Verification of legal compliance o Tolerance studies
- Optimize optical system performance
- Support customers in optical design & simulation activities
- Executing photometrical measurements including documentation
- Support setting up lab infrastructure for photometrical measurements
- Support in purchasing of new equipment and software
- Support benchmarking, prototyping and product launch activities
- Organize and attend technical meetings
- Networking by visiting conferences and fairs
- Deliver input to product roadmap and improvement activities
Qualifikationen:
- A Master degree or PhD in physics or engineering
- Knowledge about physics of light and optics is preferred
- Experience in finite elements simulations
- Experience in optical characterization is preferred (photometrical measurements)
- Ability to clearly communicate and document technical results
- Interest in hands-on tasks and practical work, however driven by an attitude of accuracy, precision, reliability and safety
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (German or Japanese is a plus)
- You are a team player
- You work highly flexible but well-organized and highly motivated
